Cosmetic gum treatment with laser

A beautiful smile also means healthy gums. With the laser we can correct a “gummy smile” without a scalpel and usually without stitches. The laser is also recommended for reshaping the gum line and removing gum pigmentation.

Gum reshaping is a modern, minimally invasive and precise procedure for recontouring the gums. It is recommended when the gums cover too much of the teeth or the gum line is uneven, spoiling the look of the smile. Depigmentation of the gums is a minimally invasive laser procedure that lightens dark areas of the gum. It removes the hyperpigmented areas in a controlled way, for a more even colour and natural-looking gums. Frenectomy is a procedure that removes or modifies the frenulum, the small band of tissue that connects the lip to the gum or the tongue to the floor of the mouth. With the laser, the tissue is cut precisely, with little bleeding and minimal trauma. In many cases no stitches are needed and recovery is faster.

The procedures take 15 to 30 minutes, with minimal local anaesthesia and no significant bleeding. You can get back to your usual activities the same day, and complete healing takes one or two weeks.
